SUMMARY OF POST
Fatima Childrens Day Care Centre is a community based early years’
service for children aged 1 year to 5. The service caters for up to
* children and provides additional supports for
families/parents through the FRC & its Family Social Prescribing
Project. The Manager's primary role is to support & manage a large
staff team, to oversee and implement a quality early childhood
programme which promotes the holistic development of the child
supported by Aistear, the early childhood curriculum framework and
Siolta, the Quality framework.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
* Delivery of a quality, high standard, care and education service
for children and their families, ensuring that best practice, policies
and procedures are followed
* Administrative responsibilities attached to running and operating
the service
* Manage, lead and support a team including childcare workers, CE
staff, catering staff, etc
* Work collaboratively with community and statutory organisations
* Support and build relationships with parents/families
E_SSENTIAL CRITERIA:_
* A recognised Early Years qualification (Level 7 or above) with
extensive early years’ experience
* Managerial experience re the operational requirements for running
an early years’ service ie, staff development, administrative and
computer skills – report writing, record keeping, funding
applications, policies & procedures, etc
* Experience of working with children and insight into their
developmental needs
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* High level of motivation, personal maturity and flexibility
required
